About Pearl
Pearl is our first Swissy, and our introduction to Swissy ownership. We are grateful to Michele Slate for entrusting her to us as a show/breeding prospect from the very start! Fiercely loyal, extremely intelligent, endurance that goes on forever, enough strength and energy that we hope to take up skijoring and pack hiking with her, and yet calm, collected, and trainable enough for our 11 year old daughter to train with her in 4H and AKC showmanship and obedience. She is the total package, with an instinct for herding, a constant desire to be with her family, and the "drill sergeant" on family hikes that wants to keep everybody moving. Despite her endurance, she is also perfectly content to stay in with us on a winter's stormy day, cuddled up on the couch or surveying our property from the front window. Not the opportunistic trouble maker that some Swissies can be, she doesn't counter or garbage surf, or chew inappropriate household objects.

Show Career
A slower maturing Swissy, Pearl has taught us a lot and learned a lot as our first show/breeding prospect. She was "our ticket to the dance" so-to-speak, and it has been a learning process for all. A year after her first AKC show, she earned her first couple of points at the very same show this past February in Denver. She recently earned her International Championship (IABCA), and UKC championship, and a 5-point AKC major, BOW, & BOS at the Cheyenne Kennel Club show on 9/3/2016- Thank you Janine Leoni! Pearl again went Winner's Bitch for a 4-point AKC major at the Southern Colorado Kennel Club on 11/11/2016. Pearl finished her AKC championship in style with a 5-point major at the Utah Beehive Cluster on 5/6/2017-again, thank you Janine! Additionally, she and our daughter qualified for state (2015) in 4H showmanship and obedience as well as a first place in junior showmanship for her class at the GSMD 2015 National Specialty; Pearl also earned the first leg of the herding instinct test, and earned an Owner Handled Group 4th and Working Group Puppy Group 4th summer of 2015 as an 11 month old puppy. We have grown as a team and a family by leaps and bounds, and look forward to what this upcoming year will bring.
