Our First Puppy Reunion!
Today we had an amazing time with our very first Legacy Creek Puppy Reunion, with puppies from both of Pearl's first two litters showing up for the fun! Cupcakes, puppy treats, romps through mud puddles and creeks, we had a blast! Looking forward to many more reunions, with an ever growing Legacy Creek family! The Legacy Creek store is open!
It has been slow in developing, as we honed in on our planned product offerings, but we are finally open for business! Elin, our daughter, will be making all paracord products, which include puppy ID collars and slip leads. Fifty percent of all profits will go into an education fund for her. Profits from the Custom Cool Coats, hand made by Kiki, will go back into Legacy Creek, LLC. Eventually Elin will also be responsible for making the Cool Coats. We are super excited about this endeavor, and hope you will enjoy our product offerings! In addition to our online store, we will also be offering a small selection of pre-made products at local dog shows.
ZIVA has obtained all clearances!
We are super excited to announce that Ziva, GCH CH Houha's Leavin a Legacy in Storm's Wake, obtained all of her necessary clearances to move forward with breeding her! We expect her CHIC# to be issued later this month once we send in her CAER normal results this week. We are really looking forward to seeing what this girl will bring to our breeding program, with her first breeding planned for the end of November 2018!
Why we do what we do. . .
Some reflections following yet another wonderful family interview. When folks ask us why we breed dogs, two common answers come forward: 1) We love this breed and want to contribute to it’s existence and improvement; and 2) we always want to have a houseful of quality dogs of this breed. So we breed for ourselves and the breed. However, in the short time we have been breeders, much of the joy of getting our breeding program off the ground has in fact come from meeting the other amazing people and families that are drawn to this breed, and in turn providing them with quality Swissies to love and enjoy. We are so privileged and thrilled with the families we have found thus far who have joined the Legacy Creek family, and everytime I meet another amazing family, I am so excited to share the joy and privilege of Swissy ownership with them! So thank you to our amazing puppy homes, and all of those whom we have yet to meet!
Pearl is pregnant!
We are thrilled to announce that the breeding of Pearl x Pyro appears to have been successful based on this morning’s ultrasound! While ultrasound confirms pregnancy, in dogs it is rarely a reliable method to count puppies, and they can still reabsorb puppies in the next couple of weeks. Now we wait and watch until her x-ray on April 11 to get a puppy count, and then a due date range of April 14-16! Stay tuned!
